Training Opportunities

Training Program Overview—LAYSL regularly hosts a variety of training opportunities when we can. The NMYSA offers instructors to run Youth Module I and II courses as well as E license training and above. These sessions are free to our coaches, however, we are only allowed a certain number of courses depending on factors such as instructor availability and number of registered players in our league.

At the present time (3/28/08) we are working with NMYSA to schedule an E license training session this spring. Coaches, check your e-mail for information as it becomes available.

For all coaches, John Wilcox is available to help with ideas and coaching tips. You can call him and set up a one-on-one session to help you with all kinds of issues related to coaching your players and managing your team. See his contact info on the "Contact Us!" page.

LAYSL also offers a coach mentoring program in which an experienced coach can come to your practice and help you with ideas while the kids are on the field. Contact John or Paul Criscuolo for more information on that program.

LAYSL has a few soccer coaching DVDs to loan out on an as-needed basis. Contact Paul Criscuolo about borrowing them.

But whatever you do, just remember to have fun with your team!
