GENERAL INFORMATION and CALL for COACHES
Los Alamos Youth Soccer League (LAYSL) provides recreational, developmental, and advanced soccer programs for the Los Alamos community. The advanced program provides a competitive soccer experience for players with a strong level of commitment and emphasizes player development over winning. LAYSL anticipates offering advanced girls teams and boys teams for players with birth dates between August 1, 1994-July 31, 1999. For 2008-2009, the age groups are:

U10 August 1, 1998-July 31, 1999
U11 August 1, 1997-July 31, 1998
U12 August 1, 1996-July 31, 1997
U13 August 1, 1995-July 31, 1996
U14 August 1, 1994-July 31, 1995

Coaches are as follows: Error 4-407: Missing info

Parents and other interested individuals in the community are always needed to serve as coaches. For further information, prospective coaches should contact LAYSL Advanced Program Coordinator, Paul Criscuolo, as early as possible. See Contact Us! for contact information. Interested coaches will need to submit an application letter including experience and training and a statement of coaching philosophy addressing goals, expectations, playing time policies, strategies for player development and retention, and commitment to continued education.

For more information, please contact the Advanced Program and Event Coordinator. [PageTop]

DCSL Fees Explained
After much negotiation, it appears that the Duke City fees assessed against our advanced teams have been well spent. The team fees collected from all Duke City participants have allowed us to secure the Bernalillo Complex for all U-11 and older games. While the benefits were not clear in the beginning, we can now recognize them:

  • travel mileage is cut down from Los Alamos
  • we are helping fund our state complex
  • travel between games in families is easier
  • our kids see lots of high level play at one place
  • we play on excellent fields with ample parking
Since we are now paying members, we may also have more say in the operations. If you have concerns, or suggestions, please contact a board member Also, please report referee no-shows to the Advanced Coordinator, as this is a part of the fee structure. See you on the pitch.   [PageTop]
