» Spring Recreational Registration

10:20 Jan 10, 2012

Spring registration is open until Feb 24, 2012. The league is going to run the spring season a little differently this season. We have hired a coach to work with all the teams for part of the season. They will run sessions for all age the kids in an age group and the coaches will assist him. First games will be April 13/14 and the hired coach will be working with the kids the two weeks before that.

iSoccer is a program that is attempting to get the basic skill level as high as possible in the United States. They have started a program that score basic skills and allows players, coaches, and clubs to compare their success to others of the same group.

LAYSL has purchased a basic membership for all players and teams in the recreational, tournament, and competitive programs. I encourage everyone to participate in this program.

» Tournament Success

13:02 May 12, 2011

Every year, we send a number of teams up to Durango to participate in what is the end of year tournament for many of these teams. We have success every year, which is a testiment to the commitment and heart that the players and coaches have. This year is no different.

We started a new program this year called the Tournament Teams. The hope was to find a new way to get kids ready for the competitive program. This year's U11 boys tournament team went from not scoring a goal in their first tournament, to winning first place in Durango!

Great job to all the kids that participated. The other teams that did well were the U12 and U13 Boys who each got second in their brackets.

I personally want to thank everyone that came out to Pueblo Field. We had about 200 people in the picture. I also heard that the participation at the schools was even greater. It was great to make this connection with Japan and have the kids be part of it.

Kaoru Shimada brought the poster in the front that said "Be Strong Japan, take care of yourself".

Thanks again for allowing us to be part of your kids lives.
