Tournament Rules and Guidelines (amended 24 Aug 2006)

Check in at at Overlook from 8 to 10 am on Saturday for non-LA teams.  Friday night for Los Alamos teams (at Dara Jones).

 

Tournament rules of play will be the same as those specified by USYSA and NMYSA for

each age group, with regards to player registration, equipment, playing field

requirements, ball sizes, and number of players per team. Players, coaches and parents

will be expected to respect and abide by the laws of the game and sportsmanship. Any

red or yellow card infractions will be reported to the appropriate league and state

association. In all ages, center referees will be provided, and teamsÕ club assistant

referees will be used as determined by the center, to indicate balls out of play.

 

U12 Girls games - Games will be played at Rover Field in White Rock, and will consist of two 30-minute halves. A size 4 ball will be used

(provided by the home team) and teams will play 8-a-side.

 

U11/U12 Boys games Ð Games will be played at Overlook, Field #1  in White Rock, and will consist of two 30-minute halves. A size 4 ball will be used

(provided by the home team) and teams will play 8-a-side.

 

U-13 games (Boys and Girls)Ð Games will be played at Fields 2, 3 and Dara Jones, all located at Overlook Regional Sports Complex.  Teams will play 11-a-side and will use a size 5 ball provided by the home team (listed first on the schedule).

 

 

 

Bracket Awards and Determination

Point system: 6 points for a win, 3 for a tie, 1 point for each goal scored (up to 3), 1

point for a shut-out, and Ð1point for each red card.

 

3 team brackets: Teams will play a round robin, with 1st place medals awarded to the

team with the most points. breaker will be: 1) head to head results, 2) goal differential, 3) goals for, 4) goals against.

 

5 team brackets: Teams will play a 4 game round robin, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place

medals to the top three teams. Tie breaker will be: 1) head to head results, 2) goal

differential, 3) goals for, 4) goals against.

 

6 (and 7) team brackets: Teams will play a round robin in pool of 3 (or 4) teams. Third place from

each pool will play each other for 3rd place. The two 1st place teams from each bracket

will play for 1st and 2nd place. The second place teams from each bracket will play for 3rd

and 4th and the 3rd place teams from each bracket will play for 5th and 6th place. If teams

are tied at the end of play during the second day of play, teams will play two-5 minute

halves, followed by 5  kicks from the mark (shoot-out), followed by shot-for-shot kicks from the mark.
